Project Engineer

This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria. </p><p> </p><p><strong>Join Our Team as a Project Engineer (Facilities/Equipment)!</strong></p><p>In this job you will work on a variety of production equipment along with process systems controlled by programmable logic controllers used in our manufacturing facility that are tied to the S&C network for data collection purposes. This work includes working with maintenance technicians to troubleshoot, repair, adjust and other maintenance tasks related to the support of a wide variety production, process and production support equipment and chemical distribution systems. The Project<span> </span>Engineer performs maintenance tasks utilizing equipment manuals, assembly drawings, and electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics. </p><p> </p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Providing electronic engineering and software programming for manufacturing process automation. </li><li>Connecting automation and CNC equipment to networked data collection system. </li><li>Developing and maintaining human-machine interface (HMI) software for manufacturing process automation and test automation. </li><li>Developing and maintaining programmable logic controller (PLC) software for manufacturing process control and test equipment. Evaluate and specify electronic sensors for manufacturing process data acquisition; oversee sensor installation and startup. </li><li>Assist maintenance staff with training and maintenance of automation systems. </li><li>Responsible for training factory and support staff on implemented equipment and technology. </li><li>Work with Lean and manufacturing engineers on production line improvements. </li><li>Lead person for updating facilities process and manufacturing data recording and retrieval processes. </li><li>Developing and supporting automation initiatives within manufacturing facilities maintenance group. </li><li>Assist with integration and programming of robotics and automation projects provided by third parties. </li><li>Develop and implement automation and integration methods that improve operations. </li></ul><p style="margin-left:.5in;"> </p><p><strong>What you’ll Need To Succeed:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree required (prefer BSEE or BSCS) </li><li>Experience in writing PLC codes for Rockwell (Allen-Bradley), Siemens, GE, and other industry standard PLC platforms. </li><li>Experience in writing HMI code using Wonderware, FactoryTalk View ME/SE, RSView, and other industry standard graphical interfaces. </li><li>Project Management capabilities. </li><li>3+ years of experience working with low to medium volume assembly process improvements </li><li>Experience with quality improvement implementation. </li><li>Ability to demonstrated problem solving and team facilitating skills. </li><li>Must have strong knowledge base of motors, drives and PLCs </li><li>Experience with industrial process sensors and controls </li></ul><p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p><ul><li>3+ years experience with HMI and PLC ladder logic </li></ul><p> </p><p>S&C Electric is committed to equal-opportunity employment.
